David Leverton, President of Leverton & Associates Ltd., has served in executive management roles in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Yukon and New Zealand. These senior roles have provided David and the company with a wealth of experience and knowledge in better understanding and addressing the day-to-day challenges associated with operating science centres, planetariums, First Nation cultural centres and museums.

This type of experience is invaluable when it comes to proper planning. Every operation is unique and requires different types of management and advisory support. Having a wide depth of knowledge and experience is important when it comes to providing the best possible advice to clients.

Leverton & Associates Ltd. has been involved in the planning and coordination of several large-scale capital projects including fundraising, operational planning, exhibit development, media relations and gift shop planning.

David also has international business experience in New Zealand, Europe and Southeast Asia and was responsible for overseeing the development and operation of a successful retail business in the cruise ship port of Skagway, Alaska.

David is a former university lecturer and radio columnist with CBC and co-authored Those Who Perished: The unknown story of the largest shipwreck disaster along the Pacific Northwest Coast, and has written several magazine articles on British Columbia’s maritime history.

In addition, David served as Co-Chair for the 3rd International Glacial Archaeology Symposium that brought together circumpolar research scientists from around the world to Whitehorse in June 2012. David has taught several university courses for the University of British Columbia and University of Ottawa and was a founding board member of the Yukon Science Institute.
